Needs Assessment

The Needs Assessment was guided by answering a series of questions but first identifying the key audiences that would require training in the event of a Public Health Workforce Activation and Call Out. The following Assessment Framework illustrates the questions raised during the assessment.

1. Who are the target audiences?
2. What are the topics that these audiences need to be trained on?
3. Is there an existing outline used for training in this topical area?
4. What are the desired objectives of the training?
5. What are the skills that will be acquired during the training?
6. What are the existing trainings (core competencies)?
7. Who is the content expert for the information?
8. What is the best fit for training medium/venue?
9. When should the training take place? (pre/during/post )
10. What is the anticipated time commitment of the staff for the training?
11. How will the information be recorded and tracked?

Target Audiences

The identified Public Health audiences were:

• All Public Health (including all staff, managers, supervisors & leads)
• All Public Health Surge Response Teams (including team leads and team members)
